Hansen Given the River Hero Award

"Representative Hansen and Senator Sieben deserve kudos for their willingness to listen to all the different interests and craft a bill with bi-partisan support that will make sure our river protections are strong" Whitney Clark, Executive Director, Friends of the Mississippi River. Representative Hanson was the lead house author of the Mississippi River Critical Area Reform Bill enacted during the last session. The bill updates and clarifies the regulations applicable to rulemaking for the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area, a protected corridor that covers the bluffs and slopes adjacent to rivers in the area from Dayton to Hastings, and that has been designated as a National Park and a State Critical Area. THis action will provide for scenic and ecological protections as development proceeds within the area.
